Pre-contact position for inflight refueling. 105 knots airspeed.

Pre-contact view from the cockpit.

Taking on fuel. The refueling drogue trails behind and below the C-130 wing. After "contact", (connecting the H-3 refueling probe to the drogue) , the helicopter is positioned up and directly behind the C-130 wing. This location puts the helicopter in a "drafting" position and greatly reduces the power requirement. You could really feel the acceleration. You could do over 110 knots+ on a single engine.

Mt. Redoubt west of Cook Inlet complete with glacier, "poofing" out some volcanic steam.

Oil drilling rig in Cook Inlet.

Mt. Katmai crater. It is still hot enough to keep from freezing even in the middle of winter.
