Captain Abbe Warren has become the first female helicopter pilot to join the USAF Helicopter Pilot Association.  Captain Warren was raised in Connecticut and received her Officer commission through the ROTC program.  She attended fixed wing training in T-37’s at Laughlin AFB, TX and helicopter pilot training at Ft. Rucker, AL.  She flew the UH-1 at Vandenburg AFB, CA and spent the last 3 years with the 40th Helicopter Squadron at Malmstrom AFB, MT flying the Huey on Missile support and Rescue missions.

Captain Warren has been re-assigned (July2010) to Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ and will undergo upgrade training in the H-60 Pavehawk at Kirtland before being deployed to Afghanistan for SAR duty. 

She is also a member of the “99’s”, an International Organization of Women Pilots.
